Libs will ‘pave Paradise and put up a parking lot’

The State Liberals will today unveil plans for a new $7.5 million park ‘n’ ride at the Paradise Interchange, which will provide over 300 additional car parks for O-Bahn passengers.

“The Member for Hartley Vincent Tarzia has continued to champion the park ‘n’ ride at the Paradise Interchange on behalf of his community over the last six years – he is a tireless advocate for better infrastructure in his local area.

“If elected, a State Liberal Government will deliver this important project for public transport users in the north eastern suburbs who have been waiting for years for better parking infrastructure at Paradise.”

Liberal Member for Hartley Vincent Tarzia has mounted a concerted campaign with his community, lobbying for the park ‘n’ ride project to be built.

“I’m ecstatic to have secured this funding for the Paradise Interchange park n’ ride on behalf of my local community in Hartley – it’s well overdue,” said Mr Tarzia.

“It’s a win for O-Bahn passengers with a new car park to reduce the overflow in surrounding streets and also cut the time it takes to search for a park.

“$160 million was recently spent on the O-Bahn, so we should be encouraging as many people as possible to use the service.

“Many commuters will no longer be forced to park on the busy Darley Road which will be a great safety outcome and unclog a main road.

“I want to thank the hundreds of people who signed the petition and joined the campaign to secure parking for Paradise.

“I will always be a strong voice for Hartley and will continue to fight for better infrastructure to make it easier to get to work, to school and to our fantastic local shops.”
